My 11 year old cat Pigeon was displaying discomfort in her mouth area, so I decided to bring her to Annex Animal Hospital as a new patient. Eventually, she would have 4 teeth removed.
Right from the beginning all the staff were so lovely and amazing to work with during this stressful process. Carley and Emma were always there at the front to greet us and get us situated. Yvonne was patient and thorough when explaining pre post-op care. Dr. Shreya showed true care and sympathy for Pigeon, and I felt 100% confident as she went into surgery.
I have attached a photo of Pigeon the morning after surgery. Her recovery has been without any complications, and I completely believe that is due to the expertise and care of the whole team.
I will be returning to Annex Animal Hospital for all future vet visits.

I’ve trusted the team at Annex Animal Hospital with four of my cats over the years. They’ve always provided exceptional care, kindness, and compassion, especially during the difficult goodbyes. I’m so grateful for the love they’ve shown my fur babies.
We have been talking our dog Loki, to Annex Animal Hospital on Bathurst Street now for about 3-4 years and just can't say enough about the friendly staff/customer service and the Vets that provide excellent care to our beloved Loki. Recently I took Loki in for severe dry skin and Dr. Jordy was very thorough in his examination and came up with a treatment plan for us to implement at home for our dog. I would recommend Annex Animal Hospital to anyone with their furry friends.
The vet here is afraid of cats! I was a client here for more than 10 years. After the new ownership took over I took my cat there. New vet. She was late for my appointment - chatting with a dog owner right in front of me as I waited.
Next, the assistant took me into the room and asked me to explain the problem. He tried to explain it back to me using the wrong details twice!
The fun part - he then started wrapping my very timid, very gentle cat up in a towel. Obviously I stopped him... she was terrified! Why? I asked the vet and she explained that she knew another vet who had to go to hospital after getting scratched by a cat.
A vet who doesn't get to know the animal, just terrifies it because someone she knows got scratched. Cats give off signals when they're going to scratch, so obviously her friend can't read cat signals. Maybe her friend was a vet too?!
Seriously! Do not go to this practice if you have a cat.
I took my cat there and they were wonderful with her. Everybody, there was very friendly and nice. It was quite affordable and they did extras and didn't charge me for it , which I really appreciated , and so did casper. Any and every chance I get to recommend them , I would!
Over the years and over many pets I’ve visited several different veterinary clinics in the different areas of the city that I’ve lived in, but this animal hospital is by far the absolute best one I’ve ever visited, my fur baby (Bonecrusher) loves the doctors here and my kitty doesn’t really allow anyone but me to touch her, but at this clinic she has no problem being picked up, examined or anything else she has done there.
The doctors and the staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, I never feel rushed when speaking with them and you can tell right away that they have a genuine love for animals and truly care about the owners as well.
I’ll never go to another animal clinic with my current fur baby or any future furry friends I have in the future as long as I live in this city.
I’m glad I found this wonderful place eleven years ago and I hope by reading this review that you bring your animal here for whatever care they need.
AAH is the best animal hospital I’ve been to in Downtown. Dr Berman takes really good care of my 2 kitties since they were young. Their price is fair, and they truly take responsibility for your pets, without pushing you to pay unnecessary bills.
