Finding a groomer for our 2 1/2 year old MiniBernadoodle whiile away from home at our cottage during Covid was a bit of a challenge for us. Fortunately, we discovered Groomintales and better yet, were able to get in quickly. When we arrived, the owner and her assistant were finishing up a nail clipping on a cute little pug who clearly did not have nail clipping anywhere on his list of fun things to do! We were immediately impressed with how carefully and skillfully both ladies worked to keep the pup at ease and to finish up the task. When it came time for our George Harrison, we described what we were looking for and then left our scruffy Velcro Dog, as we often refer to him - everything sticks to him - to complete our errands. When we returned hours later, we were dazzled by the sight of our new dog! Gone were the long, unkempt tangles and curls and in its place was a perfectly groomed handsome Doodle. We had left a couple of specific trimming instructions which were followed to a "T". We couldn't have been more pleased. The pricing was very reasonable which left us plenty of room for a tip, which was well earned. We will be returning again and again!

Nancy and Natasha are Great. They have groomed 3 dogs for me over the years. All my dogs have been happy to go and are Groomed very well. I have had to use groomers while in Florida ( we spend our winters) and have not been happy. So Thankful for these Women and the Skill and Compassion they have working with dogs. Highly Recommend Them!

We ended up trying Groomin' Tales 3 months ago after struggling to find someone to trim our highly anxious dogs nails. Even our vet and their assistants could not get it done with light sedation. We were getting desperate. Spending over $500 to have him fully sedated every 3 months just isn't in our budget so needed to find another option. I will admit I found the customer service a little abrupt, but to be honest after working in customer service for many years myself and seeing how rude and obnoxious customers can be I totally get it. They are providing a service and all in all they did such an amazing job getting our Blue's nails done quickly and efficiently and without hurting his already injured leg I left very happy and impressed. Today, my partner took Blue for his 2nd visit and came out just as happy with the experience. I think we need to sometimes focus on the task they have ahead of them and give credit where it's due. Thanks again, and I am sorry to hear that you will be retiring next year now that we finally found someone to trim our doggo's nails! I would recommend Groomin' Tales especially if you have a dog that fights the process. They didn't let him win! 👍🐕

I decided three stars was fair. I had Nancy as a groomer for most of my dogs life. She turns 10 next month. For the most part I have been happy taking Tessa to her. Also Natasha is great. But last year right before covid started my son became ill forcing me to reschedule I would say about four appointments in a year and a half. I would reschedule them when I got my reminder call which could be anywhere from 2-7 days in advance. I rescheduled because my son’s appointments would be at the same time. The last time she told me she was frustrated when I reschedule when I get my reminder call and told me Natasha would call me to reschedule and she then hung up on me. I didn’t bother answering when Natasha called me back. The message she left said to call them back to reschedule when I know I could make it for sure. I never did. I found a new groomer. I think she could have asked me if something was wrong because I went to her for so long and that was new for me. I didn’t feel like I owed her an explanation in any way but had she asked, I would have explained. Anyway it’s good that she works with dogs and not people 😊

First, to the person who remarked that the ladies are the rudest you’ve met, I’d like to point out the irony in your review being the rudest I’ve ever read. At this shop, if you ask their opinion on your pet, they tell you. If you’ve let your dog get fat, they may mention it. They love dogs and cats. And they are very knowledgeable . There may be a bit of grousing about the long day ahead but it feels real to me. There’s a past era feel to it that I very much enjoy. Like a gruff barber you knew who might have remarked that you’ve let your hair grow into a mop. To then say, sit down here kid, let’s get you cleaned up. There’s no malice. If you take a bit of humour in with you, they feed off of it. They ask about my past dogs and give me space to say they’re no longer with us. If you are easily emotionally dysregulated, or live in a place where everyone walks on eggshells around you, well I’m sorry you have to live that way. In that case, you might consider going elsewhere. To everyone else, book your appointment.

I went to drop off my dog for his regular 8 week visit this am. And, although I always felt uneasy with the owner's professionalism and attitude I continued to bring my dog. His behavior heading there the last couple times was for good reasons. He shakes while we wait to go in. Today, she asked if I wanted the usual cut, I said yes. But, a quick reminder not too short around his eyes. This is where the conversation quickly escalated and she got very defensive. Then proceeded to say if I brushed my dog once in a while he wouldn't need to be cut so short and that when my husband comes he's find and that I'm the problem. I'm not sure how a small customer's suggestion can get such dramatic and eratic behavior. But I guess it's fair to say that both my dogs and my intuitions where right. There was no way I was leaving my dog. I've never seen him happier to leave. And will never be back and or recommend to anyone. If a business owner can take a small suggestion. And blow it up so big and go off on a customer like that. I certainly will never leave a helpless animal... good luck Nancy.. and don't pretned you don't know me like all your other negative reviews.

I booked my dog an appointment elsewhere almost immediately after he got groomed here. I wouldn't have minded the rudeness of the owner/groomer if she had at least done a good job. The young lady working the cash was very nice, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone though.

Absolutely adore Nancy and Natasha! They take care of my 3 mini Australian Sheppard’s every 5 weeks. My boys are happy and well looked after in their care! Could not ask for more! It has been many years that they have grooming them! Thank you!! Xoxo

Pleasantly surprised as it's the first time after a groom my dog did not have a negative skin reaction. He has major skin allergies.

They did a great job with our two small dogs. Great cuts and very clean. Dogs are a minimum of 5 hours, so please be advised when making an appointment.
