We're very lucky to have the happy hounds team for daycare, boarding and grooming services. They make it a point to get to know the dogs' personalities, preferences, triggers, etc, and meet the dogs where they're at. Kitara's grooming has been so beneficial for my anxious pup. I can't say enough good things, and only wish some of the other larger daycares in town would take notes.

Do not go here for grooming. My 6 lb yorkipoo PUPPY was shaved completely down and cut under his arm pit. The owner was empathetic after I made them aware of the situation and they tried to resolve things; but the damage was done to my traumatized little dog. It’s been 10 days since his groom and he is not fully healed yet, and I’ve had to keep him out of his normal activities ever since. I just want people to be aware about the groomer. They did give me a full refund but I wish I could turn back time and avoid going here to begin with.

Happy Hounds is the best! Our pup Sadie has been attending for almost four years and we couldn’t ask for a better group of people to take care of her every week. They are so awesome with all of the dogs, and the size and structure of the play group supports everyone in having a fun, balanced day. Sadie also has her grooming done at Happy Hounds, and we couldn’t be happier with the work Kitara does! She is very kind, patient and detail-oriented. Sadie always looks fantastic and is so happy on her “spa” days. She gives Happy Hounds two paws up! 🐾

Happy Hounds Doggy Day Care is a wonderful place. I had to stop unexpectedly in Halifax for a few days while traveling with my dog & the friendly, professional staff made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog in their care each day. And picking up a happy, well cared for dog each day was fabulous! I highly recommend Happy Hounds & will definitely use them next time I am in Halifax.

Our little puppy has been going to Happy Hounds for daycare and grooming for a year and it has been a dream! They give our Havanese same level of love and attention as she would get at home. This was our dog’s first groomer and our dog is so comfortable and relaxed here. She gets groomed every 6-8 weeks with regular brushing at home so she’s not prone to mats (although they still occasionally happen). The groomer has gotten her out of some sticky situations (gum on her paw & sticky mouse glue trap on her paws and mouth 😅) . I see someone had a different experience but everyone has a bad day. Check out this beautiful little angel 😇 🐶

Happy Hounds is fantastic. Our family was in Halifax for a few days and they took great care of our dog while we saw the sites. They truly went above and beyond. Our pup was exercised and happy. We would highly recommend.

Our dog is rambunctious, but the staff at happy hounds know how to tire her out safely and effectively. She alaays comes home calm and happy after a fun day at daycare. I am always impressed when I walk into a daycare full of dogs and there is no barking. Highly recommend

I have been coming to Happy Hounds for over three years now. I truly will never go any results for grooming and Doggy day Care needs! I truly feel like a part of the family and wouldn’t trust my dog anywhere else! He is so tired and happy when coming home and after seeing his favourite staff Kitara 🩷 thank you happy hounds for everything.
