First time visiting, and I was blown away by just how many gardening items they had available. We're currently redoing our front garden, and we were able to find everything we needed here. They have a good selection of native plants to Ottawa, which was nice to see. The cashier we interacted with on our way out was quite friendly as well. We'll definitely return for gardening supplies in the future!

Been coming here for more than 30 years. My favourite of the (3) local stores - as this one is year 'round. Pretty good seasonal garden center outside. Knowledgeable staff - especially at the indoor service desk. Great selection of birdseed (different types and bag sizes). Great place to pick up a gift. Houseplants all year. But, the No. 1 reason for being my FAVE location is the spring-flowering bulbs. They start getting them in in September. The largest selection of anywhere I know of. You pick them and bag them yourself. Here, you're sure to find a bulb or two that you haven't already seen. They'll also do custom orders for you from the service desk.

Update: My mistake its the richmond location that is very very bad. The Ottawa one seems to be way better. I ordered from them and everything came as expected and the delivery guy was top notch. A+ Richmond location: This place has really bad customer service.. they sell you broken bags of fertalizer half missing. You order a 25kg bag they send you a 25lb bag (this happend more than once). They also have crazy prices like urea 25kg is $46 but in toronto its $29. The thing is you wont even get KG you will probably get a 25 or 50lb bag which is even smaller. Pretty terrible overall but they have a monopoly. Waiting for someone to come in and compete with this company. In response: Instead of making excuses why dont you fix the problem? 1) Don't ship out broken taped up packages. 2) When someone orders 25kg bag make sure thats whats shipped out, "The vendor changed the size" is no excuse. 3) If this happens where you send out the wrong size don't argue with the customer, its your fault.

Delight place. Very busy with the planting season just starting and they have tons of different wonderful plant and vegetable varieties.

Ritchie's has become my new happy place! Me & my family are there atleast twice a week :p The staff (especially Courtney & Kate) are so sweet - they always make us feel at home, they go out of their way to help us with plant tips or problems. Everyone is very knowledgable & helpful. You can tell that they all have a passion for plants. I've bought numerous plants from Ritchie's that are happy and thriving!

From a long-time customer: thanks for the superb plants and customer service! It's always a pleasure to go to Ritchie's (sometimes I bring a client along as well!). Have a great gardening year - I love your native/nativar plants!

Big place, you can find all items under same roof which may not be available in big stores. However many items are pricier than HomeDepot and even Amazon. Yap I thought Amazon price was high untilI saw prices on items in this store. I went there specifically for Gaia Green products, price is high. I bought high domes for seed trays, which can be hard to find in other stores. Plenty staffs, nobody came to ask if we needed help or what we're looking for

Went mostly to look at indoor plants but their selection is small compared to other nurseries that specializes in them. Ritchie's is still a great spot for outdoor plants and landscaping needs.

As far as garden centers go this is as good as it gets! If you really want to deck out your backyard, lawn and garden, this is the place to go!
