Here is my experience with ruffins Pet store. I am the proud parent of a young lady whom has just graduated high school in Hamilton. She had to do coop and due to the love of animals she chose ruffins and was accepted to do her coop hours. My issue with the store is that my daughter was used then discarded as a clumped kitty litter would be of its poop and shamed blamed and never was given her hours for which she attended. And to top this off the school obligated her to write an apology letter to ruffins for not being whom they expected or wanted. I was sceptical but I’m sorry after seeing her pass with flying colours at the Salvation Army store and receiving a commemorative plaque for her work well I had no more doubts whatsoever upon who had failed who. Also being the proud owner of two beautiful dogs I will never be going to that store nor will I ever be recommending ruffins.

I went to purchase a jumping spider. they told me it was a “regal jumping spider” as i put it in its enclosure i realized it’s a bold jumping spider not actually a regal… i paid $67 for a BOLD jumping spider. usually they are not that expensive. so charging me for a regal when it’s a bold is insane. clearly they don’t know what their selling.

Ok I really want to give a quarter star. I have been a customer for a few years now the young female employee with brown hair is extremely rude to all. I have now taken my business elsewhere, where the food is surprisingly 10 to 15 dollars cheaper and nicer staff that honour their points program unlike this store. Don’t go here unless you want to be given attitude.

I've always loved stopping in here the staff and friendly and helpful and the little birdies they have are just adorable! Always singing a beautiful song and very cute! The prices here are reasonable and are inline with other larger pet stores.

Ruffins is great! Lots of options for all types of pets. I contacted the owner online as I was looking to test something for my pup. When I came in store she had a free trade-sample ready and gifted for me. So kind! I got my puppy a couple of treats. He loves the brown paper bagged $4 peanut butter biscuit treats! They have a variety of affordable, tasty options a great sale selection as well. Owner was lovely, kind and helpful! My pup loved the treats I got him, will definitely bring him in store when he’s ready!

Very helpful staff and owner. They genuinely care about delivering quality products and helping their customers. They have been a great help in finding a food for my very picky dog and cat.

I am happy with my new hamster , the cage had some small flaws but nothing serious, and the best thing was that the girl was very kind and helped me even though I did not speak English well .

Specialties: Ruffin's is a full line pet centre that carries all kinds of pets from Hamsters to Budgies, and Bunnies to Bettas.

Poor selection of products from foods to leashes, and staff don't know or won't say where the animals for sale come from. It is cheap and clean, however.
