Ilona is amazing! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. She really treated my boy with care and gave me a thorough rundown after. Boss seemed really comfortable with her and you could tell she really knew what she was doing! She was able to squeeze me in with short notice too - I will never go anywhere else in Kingston again!!! I'm so happy with my experience here. I feel that she really cares so much about her clients animals. My dog looked so happy coming out of his groom! She was really accommodating and listened to details. At the end she gave me more tips and things she noticed. She is filled with knowledge! I will definitely be bringing back my dog and would recommend shake-a-paw pet salon to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and credible groom!

Ilona is absolutely AMAZING. Came from Ottawa to Kingston for the weekend and managed to get an appointment at her Shake a Paw Pet Salon. Ilona was understanding, answered all of my questions, and made sure we were on the same page about what my pup will come out with. My boy is a 1 year old poodle and this was his first real grooming appointment (normally I give him his cuts). Despite some initial resistance from him, as soon as I got in the car to drive away he accepted his fate and Ilona expertly handled him. Not to mention he came out looking a sweet 10/10. Will definitely be coming back here for the service and also the affordability.

Can’t have asked for a better experience. The job is so thorough and reasonably priced. Ilona is so good with my girl, who is polished and perfect when she comes out happy and smelling adorable! Those who complain about Ilona are clearly not amenable to her requests. It’s her business and she gets to set the rules. She’s very reasonable but not a push-over. Sometimes the customer isn’t “always right” Complainers are bullies.

Ilona is wonderful with our dog. Typically he is hesitant of "strangers"; however we feel comfortable leaving our dog with her. Prices are very reasonable (we have been to many groomers), and he always looks and smells wonderful after.

Well Deserved 5 Star Rating from me, the only time i have rated a service all 5 Star's. The pictures are worth a thousand words alone... Sass is a 10.5 year old Black Lab (F), 100 lb., lovable dog who i have been fortunate enough to bond with since her owner got her as a puppy. I have had Sass full time now for about 15 mths, after her owner passed away suddenly and Sass was brought to me in Kingston as per her owner's wishes. After getting all checked and shots at vet twice in this time I started thinking about needing a good salon time for Sass. After thinking about it for too long and doing nothing about it I happened to come across Shake a paw salon website and saw good reviews (now i know why), I left a message and ilona texted me the next day and saw Sass at 3pm., ilona told me to come back at 5:15 pm. I could tell the way she handled Sass she would be ok. ilona texted me at 4:30 pm said she needed more time still brushing, told her no problem i would pay extra time. Picked up Sass at 6:00 pm, after 3 hours of grooming and a well needed shampoo bath. Sass had a hard time staying standing on her own so sometimes another worker helped hold her up with hands while grooming. Great job well done extra mile. Sass and myself will be back 4 times a year, money well spent. ilona you do not know how happy you make me and sass. Thanks Again. Mike R.

I recently took my dog in for a groom, who was in desperate need of a trim, and she came out bouncing and super comfortable. Despite being arthritic and anxious about cages, she never showed any sign of discomfort from routine handling after the grooming, and she was not anxious when I picked her up. Great service, great price, great look!

We just left Shake-A-Paw Pet Salon and couldn’t be happier with our first experience! We are new to Kingston and chose Shake-A-Paw off of google reviews AND knowing we would NEVER bring our fur baby back to big box retail pet stores (TRUST ME- JUST DON’T). From just a quick chat with Ilona we felt comfortable and at ease knowing we were leaving our barely 10lb shih-poo in loving hands. When we picked Coco up a few hours later she was buoyant, Happy & smelled delicious! Her cut is perfect & exactly what we had explained to Ilona!! Coco looks cuter than ever and we know she was treated with much love & care! Thank you!!
