I have always wanted to have a GSD, and searched everywhere for a reputable breeder as far as whole Canada and USA (we live in Ontario). Until I came across Vom Issam Haus.
I called Sam and Michelle, and I have nothing but great things to say about my whole experience.
We were fortunate enough to have a puppy available (I just couldn’t wait any longer) to take home in a few weeks.
Michelle was so patient with me answering all my questions (at times probably quite daft) and giving advise and always responding quickly to my emails and phone messages.
The minute we went to visit the kennel and our puppy “Luther” has picked us, we were “gonners”.
We even got to meet his parents.
He is very sweet, inquisitive, friendly (sometimes too much 😆) very very smart (the star of his obedience class 😉) loves car rides and is PERFECT in every way possible.
Eventually we are thinking of getting a second pup and most definitely this time around I will not be needing to search for a breeder as already have a perfect one!

P.S. fast forward to a year and 2 months later (he is here 1 and 5 months young).
He is a perfect dog! And because of him, we just got another puppy (unfortunately Vom Issam Haus had non when we were looking). 1 day in and they are getting along great!
We picked up our pup Charlie Bear about 2 months ago. We are absolutely in love with this puppy! In fact the whole neighborhood is in love with him. When we go for walks everyone stops and asks about him. He's got a beautiful coat and is incredibly smart. At just 8 weeks old, he was already house trained. He's so calm and gentle with the kids. At 2.5 months he had already learned new tricks like sit, stay, high five and handshake.
Sam and Michelle have been phenomenal. When we decided to get a GSD we knew we had to get it from THE BEST. We've got two little kids at home and we wanted one that would be a perfect fit for our family. Sam and Michelle have been so helpful and informative. The entire process from booking to viewing to bringing Charlie home has been extremely smooth. Sam and Michelle have gone above and beyond to make sure that Charlie adjusted well into his new home. We loved the follow ups and the fact that we can reach out to them with any questions.

We picked up our pup, Joker about 6 months ago. He was an older pup, already past a year. We drove up from Virginia, USA. Sam was kind enough to meet us in NY. Very thankful for that, as the trip took us 8 hours one way. Prior to making the trip, Sam was very responsive over email and phone and always replied promptly. He answered all our questions and provided the necessary information. I cannot express how lucky I feel with our boy. He quickly adjusted to us and his new daily routine. We signed up for training classes which have been very helpful in building a bond and also teaching us how to behave. He keeps us active, we workout with him twice a day. But he also has a great off switch in the house. Even tempered and well mannered. He does like to be silly as well, definitely has a great personality. We no longer leave him in his crate, but the crate is there in case he wants to go in. He mostly waits for us by the door while we are away (we keep an eye on him on the doggy cam). We take him hiking in the mountains or sometimes to Washington DC for festivals. He is great off leash, listens on first command and learns new commands within the first 3 or 4 repetitions. Calm and gentle with kids, and aloof with strangers. He is perfect, I could rave about him all day. People always complement him and ask where we got him. Thank you so much Vom Issam Haus!
After researching a lot of German Shepherd breeders throughout Eastern Ontario we settled on visiting four, including Vom Issam Haus. Sam's friendly, laidback attitude and ability to answer all our questions helped make our decision easy. His dogs are beautiful in both looks and temperament and we couldn't be happier with our new addition to the family...Zoey.

We couldn't find better breeder for us as a first time dog owner. It has been already 5 years that we have what we think most beautiful German Shepherd Vucko. We needed lots of advices at that time and Sam was very very helpful and without him helping us, we would have probably given up and returned the dog. He never asked us for money or took advantage of us being newbies. We think he has truly love for that breed and money is not for sure his priority. He has baby sit our dog few times while we we out of the country and the price was very reasonable comparing to any other place plus we knew that dog will be taken cafe of. Not mentioning that last year when we had death in the family overseas we left Vucko with him on very short notice and upon returning to Canada, he DID NOT WANT to take the money for those 3 weeks dog was with him. Something like that deserves more than 5 stars you can leave for somebody on any kind of feedback. We are very happy knowing Sam , we still have contact with him and I know for sure when the time comes and Vucko gets old, we will get another puppy from Vom Issam Haus and nowhere else.

My experience with Vom Issam has been wonderful. We weren’t ready for a puppy so we were blessed with one of his adult dogs. Perle came to us one week ago and has shown tremendous growth since then. She is well socialized and a very happy , healthy girl. Sam was responsive, supportive as we transitioned her to our home. Thank you for such a positive experience. We will be back 😜
